Sponch Fortnite map: A sweet collaboration
Bringing Sponch to life
Sometimes, the best collaborations stem from a shared spark of creativity, and this is exactly what happened here. When Marinela approached us with the idea of bringing the iconic Sponch brand into Fortnite, we knew we had a unique opportunity. This wasn’t just about creating a custom map; it was about capturing the very essence of Sponch and transforming it into a playable experience.
Our team designed a world that reflected Sponch’s spongy texture, vibrant colors, and delicious flavor. The result? A visually stunning and dynamic map that immersed players in a sweet, action-packed adventure.
The making of the Sponch Map 6.0
From the first sketch to the final result, every detail of the map was carefully crafted to ensure an unforgettable gameplay experience. We designed marshmallow paths, cookie-like platforms, and a pink cream sky that welcomes players into the world.
One of the biggest challenges was finding that perfect balance between theme and playability. How could we make the map not only visually immersive but also fun and dynamic to play? The answer lay in integrating mechanics inspired by the snack itself: bounce zones and platforms that crumbled like crispy cookies. This approach allowed us to create a map that not only looked like Sponch but also invited players to engage in exciting and unique gameplay.
The map features a color palette dominated by shades of pink, purple, and white, with accents of yellow and dark blue. The action takes place on a floating circular platform, where every environmental element is designed to reflect the essence of the popular snack.
From the moment players enter the map, they are transported to a sweet, colorful world. The match begins in a special Lobby, where a cinematic sequence introduces the iconic locations of the map. At the end of the sequence, players are placed on a floating platform that crosses the battlefield, allowing them to jump and glide to their destination, setting the stage for the classic battle royale frenzy that Fortnite is known for.
The Sponch Challenge 7.0
The first map was such a hit that Marinela wanted an update, leading to the release of version 7.0.
The latest edition of the Sponch Challenge brings exciting new changes. The classic coconut rain event, which previously caused players to slip, has been reimagined as jelly rain, adding a fresh twist to the chaos. We’re also introducing the «Fruti explosión de sabor» event, where activating it splashes jelly onto opponents’ screens, disrupting their vision.
To top it all off, we’re debuting the new mango cookie, Fruti Sponch. Unlike previous cookies, this one is filled with jelly instead of being topped with it—making jelly explosions the heart of this season’s gameplay experience.
Lessons learned from Sponch
Collaborating with Marinela on this Sponch Fortnite map has been an incredible journey. We’ve not only created a fun and engaging experience but also found new ways to blend gaming and branding seamlessly.
