Rebel Moon Battle Royale
An exciting final competition

The Rebel Moon Battle Royale was the electrifying final map of La Isla, a competitive Fortnite event hosted at Gamergy Spain. Designed as the last and most intense match of the tournament, this custom experience dropped players straight into Veidt, the central location from Zack Snyder’s epic film Rebel Moon.
Set in a fully themed archipelago, the map challenged 20 players in a free-for-all battle. With storm mechanics, scattered loot, buildable structures, and limited time to survive, it delivered everything expected from a classic battle royale—but with a unique, cinematic twist. The dark sci-fi atmosphere, detailed environmental design, and dynamic combat made the Rebel Moon Battle Royale a one-of-a-kind Fortnite experience.
To launch the match, the main stage at Gamergy Spain went pitch black. Then, the unexpected happened. Zack Snyder himself greeted the Spanish audience in a surprise video. He introduced the trailer for Rebel Moon and welcomed everyone into the universe of his new film. The trailer premiered on the main screen, immersing everyone in a shared cinematic moment.
Following this reveal, influencers on stage reacted live to Snyder’s message, hyping up the crowd and encouraging viewers to dive into the world of Rebel Moon on Netflix that December. The transition from trailer to battle royale gameplay was seamless, creating a narrative bridge between the film’s world and the custom Fortnite map.
Branded gameplay with storytelling impact
What made the Rebel Moon Battle Royale truly special was how it blended entertainment with interactive storytelling. The map didn’t just promote the movie—it let players live it. The competitive gameplay, set against a detailed world inspired by the film, made the branding feel immersive rather than promotional.
By turning the final match into a cinematic event, Netflix and Gamergy elevated a typical Fortnite showdown into something much more memorable. It became not only the climax of the La Isla competition, but a bold, creative way to introduce players and fans to the Rebel Moon universe.
